OMGGGEEEEE!!!!  Y’all. I had the dopest opportunity last week that I absolutely must share with you. It was one of those being at the right place at the right time scenarios. Before I get into what happened, let me share some background.

Soooo, I met this really cool guy named Mark awhile ago while he was slanging spirits  (I realize that sounds super sketchy) and I knew we were destined to be pals. I swear he is meant to have powerful vocal skills because even though the name of his distillery is Karate Cowboy I always want to call it Karaoke Cowboy. I am ever so grateful that Mark has never given me the shade I probably deserve about this unintentional blunder, although I’m digressing from the topic but y’all are used to this by now.

Moving right along…I’ve been trying to peep inside of Mark’s mad lab FOREVER and finally I had the chance to step inside and see what this creative madman and team are up cooking up… well I should say juicing up in his newest venture Simple Times Mixers.

Simple Times Mixers – First Collection

The idea for Simple Times Mixers came about in such a simple way (haahaha). Mark often found himself at events using other cocktail mixers with one of his three Karate Cowboy offerings and wasn’t happy with what the market offered him. Never one to settle for less Mark put together a dynamic team with one mission: to create the best mixers for cocktails with spectacular ingredients. Mark understands that quality ingredients create amazing cocktails. He strives to produce the very best mixers with absolutely no artificial flavors, colors, or fake stuff included.

Taste Testing -It’s a tough job but somebody has to do it.

Simple Times Mixers currently has three flavors: Strawberry Lemonade, Blueberry Sweet Tea, and Pineapple Mule. With plans to rotate various seasonal flavors, there will always be something new for our palates to explore. Simple Times Mixers gives us a unique opportunity to experience cocktails like they did back in the day. By blending your favorite liquor with this all natural ingredients mixer, our taste buds will certainly thank you later. I literally had an emotional moment while sampling the… actually let me just break down my experience with all three mixers.

Strawberry Lemonade

Fun Fact: I absolutely LOVE Strawberry Lemonade. It is my number one non-alcoholic drink in every season. I remember once when I was little, we went out to some fancy restaurant and I literally just drank strawberry lemonade and was the happiest kid ever. My first sip of this strawberry lemonade transported me right back there. Its sweet, tart, and authentic. Add your favorite vodka or better yet Karate Cowboy Natural, and say hello to your new best friend.

Blueberry Sweet Tea

If you enjoy sweet tea on a hot day, you will find the Blueberry Sweet Tea perfect for all days! I found the black tea to be subtle in flavor with a hint of citrus on the nose. The color is absolutely beautiful and pairs quite well with Karate Cowboy Ginger.

Pineapple Mule

Last and certainly not least is the Pineapple Mule. Oh, how this mixer had me rethinking of my life goals. With my first sip of this mixer, I picked up on the hint of mint and ginger on the nose. Despite ginger being one of the ingredients I didn’t find the taste to be sharp… that is until Mark did something I didn’t expect. He had the nerve and audacity to mix the Pineapple Mule with Karate Cowboy Wasabi and it blew my mind! It’s hands down one of the best mules I’ve ever had. I wasn’t even a mule fan prior to sampling this perfect combination. I’m still a little mad that Mark allowed me to go this long without experiencing this dynamic duo. Don’t go another moment of your life in the dark like me, good people. Pick up a bottle of Pineapple Mule and Karate Cowboy Wasabi as soon as you can. You will absolutely thank me later.

This fall Simple Time Mixers will be available online and you can currently call their office to make an appointment to pick a bottle or three up. Make sure to tell them Robin from CBUS Local Love sent you!

Until next time, always drink responsibly and I’ll see you around the city soon.
